What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafe' Service Worker position at NYCM?
The Cafe' Service Worker prepares and serves Café food in compliance with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards. They follow established food production programs and procedures. They are responsible for appropriate use and sanitation of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss and waste.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation of all menu items using established departmental policies and procedures.
- Assure presentation of all menu items adhere to established standards.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, dining room. etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods.
- Ensures that the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.
- Interact and serve guests in a courteous, professional, and pleasant manner at all times.
- Bring any complaints or queries from guests to Café Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- GED
Skills & Qualifications:
- Food preparation and beverage knowledge.
- Food service skills.
- Strong commitment to quality service.
- Ability to understand and comply with Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively while in high pressure situations.
- Professional approach to working as a team.
Payband 1 / 37.5 hours per week
