Manufacturing company located by the U of M campus is looking for a Machine Maintenance Technician to join their team on 1st shift!
Summary: Perform basic electrical, mechanical and maintenance on various types of equipment.
Hours: 7am-3pm Mon-Fri
Pay: DOE 25.00-30.00 hourly
Description for Maintenance Technician:
· Perform all routine equipment maintenance, Preventive Maintenance procedures and repairs for the plant and processing.
· Ensure all maintenance having an impact on quality be performed in a timely manner.
· Notify the Manager of any equipment failures or potential failures to equipment that would adversely impact the safety of the personnel or the quality of the product.
· Inspect and maintain Hazardous Waste Accumulation in the Maintenance Shop:
o Properly use the waste collection containers;
o Ensure all waste containers are properly labeled.
o Ensure containers are properly secured and covered at all items when not in use.
o Ensure proper segregation and collection of various waste streams.
· Respond to any leak or spilling of hazardous waste materials immediately.
· Proper use of PPE as dictated by the job task.
· Ensure a clean and safe workplace in the maintenance shop area, around the machines and throughout the building and grounds.
· Maintain the equipment in a good state of repair.
· Perform the PMs and MWOs in a timely manner.
· Update and advise on maintenance procedures called out in the MWOs and PMs.
· Handle day to day maintenance support activities.
· Perform the maintenance required in a safe, efficient manner.
· Adhere to OSHA regulations on safety procedures and equipment.
· Know procedures and practices for plant layout, rooftop areas, machine locations, names of equipment, subsystems of equipment, location of repair manuals and maintenance information.
· Routine calibrations and maintenance procedures for plant equipment.
· Repair or replace parts and equipment.
Qualification for Maintenance Technician:
· Previous manufacturing environment experience.
· Basic electrical skills (110 vac single phase).
· Basic water, pneumatic and hydraulic plumbing skills.
· Basic troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
· Basic understanding of principals that apply to mobile equipment, mechanical fundamentals in hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC systems, electrical motors, industry electricity, electronics, coater operations and maintenance.
· Basic knowledge of schematics and diagrams.
· Basic math skills.
· Basic electrical and mechanical principals used universally.
· Good interpersonal skills needed to work with supervisors, engineering and machine operators.
· Basic knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
· Ability to maintain preventive maintenance programs to insure proper maintenance of manufacturing and facilities equipment.
