144 Days, 3.75 Hours per Day

Salary Range: $16.37 to $19.78 per hour

Job Goal:
To provide safe and efficient transportation for District students.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent;
Must pass a reference check, mandatory fingerprint background check and drug and alcohol testing;
Must be at least 21 years of age;
Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records;
Must be physically qualified to drive a school bus in accordance with FMCSA Physical Qualifications and Examinations;
Must have a current, valid Class B CDL license issued by Nevada or a border state with a Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsement;
Must provide Nye County School District with a list of all violations as required by FMCSA §391.27; and

Selection Procedure:
The principal will interview a minimum of three (3) qualified candidates. If there are fewer than three (3) qualified candidates, the principal will interview all qualified applicants on file. After files have been reviewed and interviews have been conducted, the principal, prior to submission of the rationale for employment, may consult with the Human Resources Director concerning the individual to be recommended for employment. This recommendation will be reviewed and approved by the Superintendent/designee.
