POSITION SUMMARY:
The New York Film Academy NY Teen Summer Camp is seeking an organized, energetic, and dependable Assistant Residential Director for a live-in, full-time seasonal role. You’ll help oversee teen campers (ages 14–17) during their immersive experience in the visual and performing arts. This role involves supervising Residential Advisors (RAs), leading evening/weekend outings, coordinating logistics, and ensuring a safe, supportive, and fun environment for our creative and enthusiastic campers.
Dates: Part-Time (6/16/2025) transitioning to Full-Time Seasonal from 6/23/2025 to 8/13/2025.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Director in facilitating the full hiring process for Residential Advisors (RAs)
- Support the development and delivery of RA onboarding, including training, orientation, and uniform distribution
- Help implement and enforce safety protocols and social guidelines for campers and staff
- Assist in planning and supervising evening & weekend activities that foster community and creativity
- Monitor the enforcement of housing rules and social expectations
- Mediate student interpersonal issues as needed
- Communicate camper behavior or well-being concerns to the Residential Director
- Coordinate camper transportation logistics with the Equipment and TA Manager
- Maintain effective communication with the Director and Equipment Manager
- Support day-to-day logistics, including airport pickups, campus shuttles, and graduation events
- Help set up classrooms & program spaces before camp and assist with breakdown after the program
- Lead students to classes and activities by subway and walking
- Prepare dorm spaces by decorating, stocking supplies, and assisting with check-ins/checkouts
- Conduct weekly student check-ins and checkouts
- Enforce curfew, perform nightly room checks, and conduct regular safety rounds
- Participate in an on-call duty rotation to respond to student needs
- Spend time on campus during class hours to support students with non-academic needs
- Attend daily team meetings and assist with administrative duties as assigned
- Take on additional tasks and shifts as requested by the Supervisor
- Maintain 24/7 on-call availability throughout the program, including weekends, to ensure camper safety and support residential operations
COMMITMENT:
- Must be available full-time from June 23 – August 9, 2025
- Live-in, dorm housing provided
- One WEEKDAY off per week; weekends required
- No vacation or leave during program dates; schedule conflicts must be disclosed in advance

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or in progress or equivalent work experience required.
- Prior experience working with kids or teens strongly preferred
