POSITION SUMMARY:
The New York Film Academy Teen Summer Camp at Harvard University seeks an organized, outgoing, and dependable Teen Residential & Activity Director for a live-in, full-time seasonal role. This position oversees teen campers’ residential life and activities, supervises Camp Counselors, plans social outings, and ensures a safe, structured, and engaging environment. Responsibilities include night check-ins, morning departures, activity planning, Camp Counselor hiring/training, and supporting campus transportation logistics.
Effective Dates: Part-Time (ASAP), Full-Time Seasonal (6/16/2025 – 8/13/2025)
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the full RA lifecycle: recruiting, hiring, training, onboarding, and supervising live-in Camp Counselors.
- Develop and implement clear safety and social guidelines to ensure a secure and supportive residential environment.
- Plan, book, and oversee all social activities, including evening events and weekend outings that encourage community-building and provide breaks from classroom instruction.
- Manage the activity budget, including sourcing cost-effective or free options (e.g., hikes, beach days).
- Ensure all campers are accounted for at nightly check-ins and depart on time each morning for campus shuttles.
- Mediate student interpersonal issues and support resolution with discretion and professionalism.
- Communicate student behavior or well-being concerns to the Director of Youth Programs promptly.
- Coordinate transportation logistics in partnership with the Equipment and TA Manager, including campus shuttles, airport pickups, and off-site events.
- Collaborate with the Director of Youth Programs to schedule RA support for key events like registration, orientation, and graduation.
- Create and manage detailed RA schedules aligned with camper needs and program timelines.
- Maintain open communication channels with department leadership and support staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Support program logistics.
- Review and approve biweekly RA timesheets for payroll processing.
- Remain on call throughout the program duration, including weekends, to respond to emergencies and oversee residential operations.

- Valid driver’s license required.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience required.
- At least 2 years of experience in facilities management, event coordination, or a similar role within an academic setting.
