The successful candidate will be able to :
Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents such as user's manuals, system administrator's manuals, server and software installation documents, programming manuals, and other technical documents to clearly and effectively communicate instructions to a wide range of audiences.
Acquire language, procedures, and other subject knowledge by communicating with software developers, systems engineers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and product owners; participating in demonstrations; and hands-on manipulation and verification of the products.
Capture and edit images and videos.
Complete other duties as assigned.
The successful Technical Editor and Writer will be able to work independently and with general supervision of the Documentation Team Lead. Projects are reviewed for accuracy, conformance to established template, and clarity.
Additionally, the Technical Editor and Writer will be converting existing Microsoft Word documents from to reStructuredText (RST) format.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Communications, or other related fields.
Proficient in Microsoft Word.
Proficient in Adobe Acrobat.
Proficient in image capturing and editing software.
Willingness to learn new documentation techniques.
Ability to independently gather information and document changes.
Ability to communicate technical information to a wide variety of audiences.
US citizen with a final Secret clearance.
Desired Skills
Previous DoD experience.
Previous GCCS-J experience.
Experience with RST, Markdown, HTML, and / or wiki markup.
Experience with Sphinx Documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate in a team environment.
Top Secret / SCI clearance.
