Job Summary:
The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing used vehicles to enhance our dealership's inventory. This role requires strong negotiation skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of the automotive market. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the dealership's growth by ensuring a steady supply of desirable used vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing Vehicles:
- Actively seek out used vehicles from various sources, including private sellers, trade-ins, lease returns, auctions, and other dealerships.
Evaluating Vehicles:
- Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of potential acquisitions.
- Review vehicle history reports, check for damage, and determine market value.
Negotiating Purchases:
- Negotiate purchase prices with sellers to ensure profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Appraisals and Trade-ins:
- Coordinate appraisals and trade-in offers.
- Collaborate with sales and finance teams to process transactions smoothly.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain an updated database of acquired vehicles.
- Track inventory needs to ensure a balanced selection of vehicles.
Customer Interaction:
- Communicate with potential sellers and manage customer expectations.
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the vehicle acquisition process.
Market Knowledge:
- Stay informed on current market trends, vehicle pricing, and demand to make informed purchasing decisions.
Reconditioning:
- Develop and execute reconditioning plans to prepare vehicles for resale, when necessary.
Administrative Tasks:
- Handle paperwork, vehicle titling, and other administrative tasks related to vehicle acquisition.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in vehicle purchasing, automotive sales, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of vehicle evaluation and market trends.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
