Assistant Traffic Engineer - New Higher Starting Salary!!!
Are you ready to make a difference in transportation infrastructure? The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is looking for Traffic Engineers! We are looking for enthusiastic Engineers of all levels to help build for the future. As a Traffic Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with an industry leading team responsible for providing a safe, efficient, and reliable transportation system for all users in the Central New York Region, as well as perform traffic engineering duties to support NYSDOT's role with the MICRON development project and its impact to the state highway system.
Engineer Trainees & Assistant Engineers in the Traffic Safety & Mobility Office, under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional engineer, would perform a variety of duties.
Engineer Trainee's typical duties may include but are not limited to transportation geometric design including intersection and work zone design and design of traffic control devices and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Engineering work to include site investigations, preparation of engineering drawings and construction estimates, traffic engineering and safety studies, highway capacity analyses and traffic management.
Assistant Engineer's will perform the aforementioned duties, as well as prepare Traffic Engineering Reports and other project documents, supervise and review the work of engineering and/or traffic system technicians, perform complex operational analyses for system optimization, coordinate ITS and assist with Surface Transportation Control and work zone quality assurance activities.
Qualifications:
Engineer Trainee - If you have a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or engineering technology OR proof of passing NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam AND one year of full-time engineering experience, please apply!
