Duties Description
HMW 2 duties include but are not limited to:
Minimum Qualifications
Must have at least one year of satisfactory experience as a Highway Maintenance Worker 1 and possess NYS DOT certification to operate at least two additional types of Category 2 equipment and at least two types of Category 3 equipment, (minimum of 9 certifications total).
Note: higher category certifications may be used in place of lower category certifications.
Operating need at the posted work location requires that individuals responding to this posting be certified on the D81 Excavator within 1 year of appointment to the position. However, if the general nature of this posting requirement is of sufficient urgency to the operating need of the Residency, the candidate will be expected to obtain certification as quickly as possible within the established training and evaluation procedures. Failure to obtain and hold certification on the specified equipment will result in removal of the candidate from the position.

- Operate one or more of the categories as described above.
- Must be prepared to act as a “crew leader” and be capable of providing instruction to
- Provide on the job training to other maintenance workers in the operation of highwayconstruction and maintenance equipment.
- Must respond to emergency call-outs within an hour during inclement weather, includingsnow and ice conditions to be considered for the position.

Salary : $43,768 - $53,708
