Duties Description
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates are required to possess and maintain a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
Appointees to these positions will be required to have and maintain a valid Class D or higher drivers’ license from the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles.
Additional Comments
° Thirteen (13) days of paid vacation leave initially.
° Five (5) days paid personal leave each year.
° Thirteen (13) days of paid sick leave each year (PEF/CSEA), which may carry over from year to year.
° Up to three (3) days professional leave each year to participate in professional development events.
- Operate and drive vehicles for all assigned needs including PPE, mail and other deliveries and transportation of staff and individuals receiving services
- Retrieve, sort, and distribute items throughout New York State.
- Record, track and update vehicle and related inventories.
- Process, package, and label outgoing mail for shipment.
- Setup, load, and unload vehicles in an effective and timely manner.
- Clean and maintain all vehicles. Perform routine maintenance. Track and record repairs fleetwide. Assist in drop off and retrieval of vehicles from repair shops, required repairs are properly reported.
- Assist with office moves involving assorted types of furniture.
- Maintain and operate various types of equipment including scanning, metering, inserting, and postage machines.
- Efficiently utilize program databases, applications, including but not limited to AMS inventory and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Interact with vendors, individuals receiving service, the public and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.
- Assist with transportation and mail related administrative functions at such times that deliveries are not required.
- Perform tasks in an efficient, timely, and safe manner.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Class D or higher
- Ability to bend, lift, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 45 pounds.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
