Requirements
To be eligible for this position, you must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer. Open to the public, this title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment if the candidate meets the below NY HELPS minimum qualifications.
NY HELPS Non-Competitive Minimum Qualifications:
- For Teacher 2: Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty
- For Teacher 3: Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty
- For Teacher 4: Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and two years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty
Preferred Specialties
The preferred specialties for this position are Science 7-12. Certification MUST be at the 7-12 grade level. Appointment level will be commensurate with certification.
