This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS)* and applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered for this position:
One year of experience where most work time is spent performing mathematical operations, and/or clerical activities related to mathematical operations.
Applicants may also be appointed to this position if currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title OR are a current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 7 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
52.7 Non-Competitive Promotion (NCP) Qualifications:
Permanent 52.7 Non-Competitive Promotion: If there are no more than three qualified candidates in the promotion field for this position, the agency will request approval from the Department of Civil Service to fill this position via a non-competitive promotion (NCP) examination, pursuant to Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law. In order to be eligible for the NCP, candidates must be in the direct line promotion field, have one year or more of qualifying permanent service as an Office Assistant 1 or Office Assistant 1 (Spanish Language) and must not have failed the last holding of the promotion examination for the title listed above.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Process vendor vouchers, travel expense reports or purchase orders for the agencies the BSC currently serves, in accordance with the applicable statewide and agency requirements.
- Audit transactions, resolve problems with vendors, agencies or other parties, and enter transactions into Statewide Financial System with clear and concise documentation of each transaction.
- Correspond with various parties including vendors, customer agencies and other BSC staff.
- Consistently provide quality customer service to all BSC customers (i.e., vendors, customer agencies, state employees).
Notes:
- There is no examination required for appointment to a NY HELPS position. Candidates hired via NY HELPS will be appointed on a permanent non-competitive basis and will begin a probationary period.
