Duties
Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 3, SG-23, within the CTO/BAS/LWE/WCB Business Solutions, the incumbent will be a team member supporting the Azure environments for the OnBoard Program and oversee deployments on all these environments. They will support all projects and work on incidents and requests effecting these environments. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Minimum Qualifications
Either 1. a bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science;Either 1. a bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science;
Or 2. a bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field AND one year of experience in information technology;
Or 3. 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science AND one year of experience in information technology;
Or 4. two years of experience in information technology.
Experience in information technology includes experience in one or more of the following computer-related areas: artificial intelligence; automation; business/systems analysis; cloud computing; computer installation; diagnosis and repair; computer programming; cybersecurity/information assurance; data analytics; database administration, design and management; design and development of geographic information systems; design and development of computer aided drafting applications; digital forensics; informatics; information technology; IT customer support and training; interactive user experience (UX); internet/intranet development, design, and maintenance; knowledge management; network management; program design; program testing; project management; server management; storage management; systems management; technical writing; telecommunications; virtual technology. If verifiable, we will accept and prorate appropriate part-time and volunteer experience.

Some positions may require up to 25% travel and/or lifting up to 50 lbs. Some positions are pending Civil Service approval. Details of position(s) will be described further if you are selected for an interview.
Positions located in New York City, will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non- competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At this time, agencies may recruit and hire employees by making temporary appointments. In May 2024, if a temporary NY HELPS employee is satisfactorily performing in the position, the appointment will be changed from temporary pending Civil Service Commission Action to permanent non-competitive and the official probationary period will begin.
At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.

- Provide operational support and facilitate DevOps developers with their deployments and management of Azure and on-premise platform environments. They will need to be proficient with the following tools and technologies: .NET, NodeJS, NPM, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, PowerBuilder, UC4, administration of a Client/Server environment, GIT, Team Foundation Server, Microsoft Power Shell;
- Triage, resolve and communicate status of production issues and analyze system enhancement requests;
- Provide technical expertise and oversight for WCB applications/forms including assistance with system analysis and developing system specifications;
- Evaluate proposed technical solutions for their ability to meet operational requirements;
- Performing all supervisory responsibilities and ability to mentor and facilitate the personal growth of subordinates.
