The NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance is seeking a highly skilled decision-maker to join our team as a Decision-Maker for Human Services and Welfare Programs. As a critical component of our team, you will play a key role in ensuring the fairness and integrity of our social services benefit programs.
Responsibilities will include presiding over impartial hearings and making informed decisions regarding appeals arising from agency eligibility, denial, discontinuance, reduction, and/or adequacy of social services benefit program determinations. You will also be responsible for reviewing fair hearing requests, determining probable issues, and applying the appropriate regulations and law.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong academic background, preferably with a law degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including applicants, recipients, and agency representatives.
