POSITION TITLE: ASSOCIATE COMPUTER SYSTEMS ANALYST JG: 26
BASE SALARY: $96,594
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Competitive
QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent, competitive class service in the Senior Computer Systems Analyst title; or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience in computer systems analysis; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK: Associate Computer Systems Analysts define and design complex computer applications for users.
They work with substantial independence from supervision on projects which are more difficult than those assigned to Senior Computer Systems
Analysts and perform other related duties.

Programmer title; or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience in computer programming or computer systems analysis; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK: Under supervision, Computer Systems Analysts assist in defining and designing computer application programs for users and perform other related duties.

LOCATION: Office of Court Administration Division of Technology and Court Research
125 Jordan Road Troy, NY
ASSIGNMENT: The Computer Systems Analyst(s) will be assigned to one of the numerous application development teams within the Division of Technology and Court Research. Acting as business analysts, the selected candidates will gather business requirements and perform analyses to determine system, data and reporting requirements. The analyst(s) will document the requirements, perform testing, communicate project deliverables and document the final product. Knowledge of the software development life cycle and technical writing experience is required as is the ability to work with multiple areas of the organization as the Computer Systems Analyst role addresses areas that include operational, legal and technical concerns. Experience with a variety of testing methodologies (regression, testing, automated testing, and comparing data outputs) is a plus. Depending on the application development team assignment, knowledge of the business practices of civil, criminal, family, jury, or appellate courts and their case management systems will be highly preferred. Proficiency in SQL is preferred but not required.
