The Performance Measurement & Reporting Project Manager plays a critical role in program documentation, performance measurement, analysis, and corporate reporting. Corporate reporting of NYSERDA’s program costs, benefits, and related market data is essential to enabling managerial decision-making, informing resource allocation, and driving improvements throughout NYSERDA. Corporate reporting is also critical to keeping oversight bodies and the public apprised of NYSERDA’s progress, building trust and transparency into our work. Managing program planning documentation, including facilitation of updates and engagement with oversight bodies, is another vital role the Project Manager will fulfil. NYSERDA’s internal performance measurement approach focuses on meaningful and measurable key performance indicators of progress and outcomes to assess the status of initiatives toward meeting their ultimate goals, and to identify where adjustments may be needed. The Project Manager brings people together with business processes to make this kind of analysis successful.

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and produce corporate reports for internal and external audiences on budgets, benefits, progress, and performance (e.g., energy savings, clean energy generated, private investment, emission reductions, etc.) associated with NYSERDA programs and portfolios; set production schedule, manage inputs with program staff, conduct analysis, incorporate quality checks and reviews, conduct technical editing, and produce high-quality, on-time final products
- Collaborate with team leadership and colleagues across the Authority to produce and maintain regulatory and other planning documentation
- Develop and implement approaches for periodic performance management reviews, providing data analytics and visualizations of progress that drives discussion of variances and the need for corrective action where appropriate; develop the needed tools and protocols to improve these reporting and performance management processes.
- Facilitate and collaborate with data owners and data stewards throughout the organization toward effective review of corporate report and performance measurement data inputs and the resultant work product
- Provide ideas and input on ways to transform frequency, content, and medium of reports to be more fit to purpose, to lower preparation costs and, where possible, meet needs via public or selective data provision (e.g., Open NY) or other modern equivalents like dashboards
- Interface with information technology/data warehouse, data governance and data quality roles within the Authority to articulate data requirements and ensure readily available, quality data for use in reporting and performance measurement
- Effectively communicate status of work activity, collaborate and problem solve with management and other relevant stakeholders
- Participate in inter-departmental meetings to offer analytic solutions as necessary

- Ability to demonstrate respect, equity and inclusive behavior and practices of a diverse workforce and community.
- A Bachelor's degree from a wide variety of disciplines will be considered for this role including areas of study such as engineering, business administration, accounting, etc.
- 5 years’ experience in areas of project management, data gathering, data management & analysis, and reporting/presentation of data including the following types of relevant work:
- Experience with project management methods, processes, standards, and tools required
- Oversight (execution) of complex projects demonstrating success in managing a multitude of stakeholder interests and delivering results on time
- Experience gathering customer and/or functional requirements and facilitating the development of new dashboards, reports or other tools/systems that add value
- Familiarity with data analytics & visualization tools including software and languages such as SAS, Tableau, ArcGIS, Power BI, SQL, R, Python, etc.
- Excellent analytical and data visualization skills with a high attention to detail for data quality and accuracy
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with Tableau or other data analytics & dashboarding software required; must demonstrate ability to engage & learn new software and methods of developing data solutions
- Excellent problem solving skills; ability to anticipate obstacles and develop plans to resolve them
- Skill in managing multiple diverse activities simultaneously, delivering on commitments and operating with speed, accuracy and strong judgment
- High level of energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting and work within tight deadlines to deliver on requirements
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills that resonate with audiences of different backgrounds; possesses the ability to communicate persuasively, concisely and unambiguously in speech and in writing
- Masters degree from a wide variety of disciplines will be considered for this role including areas of study such as engineering, business administration, accounting, etc. with 4 years of relevant experience
