Admissions Scheduler - Substance Use Disorders

Brief Description

As an Admissions Scheduler on our Substance Use Disorder team at Nystrom & Associates, you will be the first point of contact for patients in our Substance Use Disorder program- answering in-bound phone calls and making out-bound phone calls to schedule patients for the treatment of substance abuse disorders at our clinics. You'll be part of a team helping patients who are experiencing substance use disorder, personal, emotional, and psychological problems. You'll play an important part of that process by answering phones and handling calls in a friendly, welcoming, and timely manner.

Nystrom & Associates is a team of mental health professionals that specializes in psychiatric evaluations, clinical social work, and family therapy. Founded in 1991, we offer an intensive outpatient chemical dependency program, psychological testing, and behavioral health and medication management services.

Hours (Please ensure that you can work the listed shift below - we do not hire part-time or seasonally):

• Monday - Friday 9:00 AM- 5:30 PM
• Must be able to work the advertised shift
• After the initial 90-day training period is over, candidates are eligible to work remotely.
  

Pay Rate

$19.15 per hour

Responsibilities Include

• Promptly answer phone calls from patients and referents seeking substance use disorder services
• Schedule patients for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services for Minnesota clinics
• Guide callers through scheduling processes and provide education about available services
• Process internal and external referrals; place outbound calls to schedule requested services
• Manage EHR inbox; promptly address and respond to messages and inquiries
• Complete other duties as assigned by leadership

• De-Escalation – at times, you will take calls from individuals in a crisis of some kind, the ability to utilize de-escalation skills in those situations is key.

Requirements

• Displays empathy and sensitivity in navigating complex situations with patients
• Strong ability to multi-task, handle stress, deescalate, and problem solve
• Positive attitude and ability to be flexible
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; proficient with using computer systems and typing
• High School Diploma required
• An interest/experience in substance use disorders, psychology, counseling, the behavioral sciences, social work, or healthcare is strongly preferred
