What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Pathologist/Blood Bank/Hematology position at NYU Langone Health System?
The NYU Grossman School of Medicine Department of Pathology is inviting applications for a clinical pathologist with experience and board certification in blood banking / transfusion medicine. The successful candidate will join a team of Clinical Pathologists with diverse subspecialties. The Tisch Hospital clinical laboratory performs approximately 5 million clinical laboratory tests annually and is currently undergoing a renovation plan to make it a state-of-the-art laboratory with automation and current technologies. The blood bank provides 20,000 red cells and 8,000 platelets for transfusion annually to support active oncology and bone marrow transplant, solid organ transplant, and surgical services. The successful candidate must be board certified in Clinical Pathology and Transfusion Medicine. The candidate must be licensed to practice medicine in New York State and be qualified for a New York Certificate of Qualification (COQ) in Clinical Pathology disciplines. Interest and expertise in hematology and coagulation preferred. In addition to clinical service, this position requires teaching pathology residents, students, and clinical fellows.
