Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem - Acupuncturist.
We are seeking a dedicated licensed Acupuncturist to join our team on a per diem basis. The practitioner will report to the Faculty Group Practice Supervisor and Acupuncturist and will utilize their integrative health skills to provide holistic and therapeutic services directly to patients within our ambulatory setting. The practitioner's primary focus will be to administer acupuncture treatments that promote relaxation, balance, and effective pain management to our diverse patient population.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate consistently with established best practices, ensuring employee compliance with credentials, HIPAA regulations, Infection Control Compliance, and general maintenance.
- Administer acupuncture treatments to patients in accordance with established protocols and individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments and consultations to determine the most appropriate acupuncture techniques and treatment frequency for each patient.
- Educate patients on the benefits of acupuncture and complementary therapies, offering guidance on lifestyle modifications that support overall wellness.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, documenting treatment progress and any relevant changes in patient conditions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient satisfaction, safety, and confidentiality in all interactions.
- Operate consistently with established best practices, ensuring employee compliance with credentials, HIPAA regulations, Infection Control Compliance, and general maintenance.
- Handle clinical complaints from patients and meticulously document them, aiming to identify any recurring trends.
- Collaborate with the practice manager and secretary to manage the daily schedule effectively, ensuring accurate appointment bookings and proper check-in and check-out procedures.
- Facilitate conflict resolution, addressing team member issues and concerns in a fair and concise manner.
- Participate in special projects such as training sessions, in-service programs, workshops, conferences (both attendance and presentations), and retreats designed for patients, families, staff, and the community.
- Lead group sessions for patients, families, staff, and the community with the aim of empowering individuals and groups to adopt healthier behaviors and foster healthier environments.
- Actively promote and facilitate wellness initiatives within the organization and the community.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in acupuncture and integrative healthcare to enhance the quality of care provided.
- Review daily billing activities to ensure accuracy, including the correct application of insurance and self-pay rates, utilization of proper ICD10 codes, and alignment of services with invoices.
- Efficiently manage equipment repairs and maintenance while prioritizing cost-effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:Graduate degree from an accredited Medical School, Valid NYS Acupuncturist License.
Required Licenses: NYS-Acupuncturist License
Preferred Qualifications:
A diplomat of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Meet all requirements for licensure as outlined in Title 8, Article 160, Section 8214 of New York's Education Law and comply with the provisions of Parts 52.16 and Subpart 79-2 of the Commissioner's Regulations. This entails the successful completion of examinations including the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine's (NCCAOM) Acupuncture, Foundations of Oriental Medicine, and Point Location Modules, as well as the Clean Needle Technique course.
Possess a Master's degree in Acupuncture or Oriental Medicine, and have completed an accredited professional acupuncture program approved by the New York State Education Department.
Hold a valid and current New York State license to practice acupuncture and be credentialed through the NYULMC credentialing process.
Demonstrate a minimum of five years of clinical acupuncture practice, with prior experience in delivering Integrative Health modalities, including but not limited to acupuncture and acupressure, to diverse populations.
Previous experience in health care settings, community acupuncture clinic, and experience in the delivery of acupuncture and acupressure with diverse populations. Teaching and presentation experience.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
