Position Summary :
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Dietitian II, RDN - Dialysis - Mineola.
In this role, the successful candidate collaborates with the health care team to provide medical nutrition therapy. Assesses nutrition needs and determines nutrient requirements according to age and disease specific needs of patients. Develops and implements nutrition care plan for assigned patients. Provides nutrition education to patients and family members. Mentors dietetic technicians and interns.
Job Responsibilities :
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Completes limited and comprehensive nutrition assessments and re-assessments in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. therapy intervention.
- Counsels patients and family members on prescribed diet, documents education in medical record.
- Mentors nutrition interns, provides training and guidance to insure a thorough learning experience.
- Conducts nutrition lectures to outpatients and outside groups as assigned.
- Identifies patients at high level of nutritional risk based on established criteria. Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition
Minimum Qualifications :
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition / Dietetics. Completion of Dietetic internship. Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics within 6 months of hire. Strong communication both oral and written interpersonal and customer service skills. Basic computer skills.
Required Licenses : Registered Dietitian
Preferred Qualifications :
1-2 years Acute care hospital setting.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $42.50 - $42.50 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
