Service Manager – O'Brien Auto Team
The O'Brien Auto Team is seeking an experienced and results-driven Service Manager to lead one of our service departments, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for maximizing revenue by attracting new customers, optimizing service operations, and enhancing the overall value of each service job. The ideal candidate will have experience in vehicle servicing and repairs, a strong background in supervising technicians, and a commitment to delivering a superior service experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, and mentor technicians to maintain a highly skilled service team.
- Supervise technician performance and provide ongoing training to keep skills up to date.
- Develop and evaluate the performance of direct reports, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Service Operations & Efficiency
- Create and manage technician and service advisor schedules to meet service demands and ensure timely repairs.
- Recommend and implement new technologies, equipment, and tools to improve quality and productivity.
- Oversee vehicle inspections to identify additional service needs and ensure thorough, high-quality repairs.
- Work with the brand manufacturer, following repair and warranty guidelines, maintaining a positive relationship.
- Customer Experience & Retention
- Develop offers and strategies to attract new customers.
- Maintain a customer contact system to ensure continued customer engagement.
- Provide coverage and support for service advisors when necessary, ensuring top-tier service quality.
- Resolve escalated customer issues promptly and professionally.
- Compliance & Safety
- Maintain full compliance with OSHA regulations, staying up to date on industry safety standards.
- Conduct required annual training on workplace safety topics such as personal protective equipment, electrical safety, fire plans, and air quality standards.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures within the department.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the service department.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (no moving violations, DUIs, or major infractions).
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and customers.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive, customer-focused attitude.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Prior experience as a Service Advisor or Service Manager in an automotive setting is required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Office Environment: Work is primarily performed indoors, with occasional exposure to temperature changes.
- Physical Demands:
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive hand motions (such as typing) are required.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Strong verbal skills are required to communicate clearly via phone and in-person interactions.

Insurance
Health insurance is available for employees who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or
more hours per week. Employees are eligible to participate in the OAT insurance
program after 90 days of employment.
The O’Brien Team does participate in the premium cost of the employees health, dental
and vision insurance. The remainder of the premium cost is payroll deducted bi-weekly
as is the cost for any other insurance an employee elects to participate in.

OAT team members are eligible to participate in the OAT 401K Retirement Program
after they are 21 years of age and have worked for OAT for a minimum of 6 months.
OAT matches employee contributions up to $500.00 per year.
Enrollment is 2 times per year. Once you qualify for the Retirement Plan, you
must wait until there is an open enrollment to participate.
Unless an employee chooses to opt out, once you are eligible, you will be enrolled at a 3% per
paycheck salary contribution.
Vacation
All full time O’Brien Auto Team employees begin with 1 week vacation time. Vacation is
earned after each calendar year of employment. Please see the OAT Employee

PTO (Personal Time Off)
PTO is earned at a rate of 2 hours per full calendar month worked for a total of 4 PTO
days per year. Please see the OAT Employee Handbook for specific details. PTO
accrual begins after 90 days of employment.
Part Time Employee Paid Time Off
All part time employees will accrue .77 hours of paid time off for every week worked.
Time is available for use after 90 days of employment. Policy details are available in
BambooHR.
Paid Holidays
Full time Team members who have worked a minimum of 90 days are eligible for
holiday pay per the employee handbook.
