EXPERIENCED DIESEL MECHANIC
This individual will conduct preventative maintenance to all truck and trailer types which will include changing or oil, oil filters, fuel filters, transmission oil, differential oil, air filters, belts, and hoses. The will also inspect components for excessive wear and replaces as needed to prevent future breakdowns.
The Tech will need to observe and listen to trucks in operation to determine malfunctions and works with electronic diagnostic equipment and computer-based technical reference materials.
May perform or assist in minor to major repairs related to Diesel engines and semi-trailers, the lubricating system, cooling system, pneumatic truck brake system, electrical/wiring, batteries, charging system, cranking/starting system, suspension and steering, wheels and tires. The tech will also have to perform in depth troubleshooting and service to engine brakes, turbochargers and actuators, fuel subsystems and injectors, electrical ignitions systems, after treatment systems (DEF), ABS/EBS systems, chassis electrical circuits, multiplexing, APU, perform drive train service and inspections.
Current and valid Class B drivers license required to operate company vehicles and be insurable under the Company policy based on MVR criteria.
Technical certification appropriate to the job is desirable but not needed and (2 ) two or more year’s related experience in Diesel Truck Repair preferred. A combination of education, experience and training may be substituted. Must have tools with a locking tool box

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work may require occasional or frequent standing, walking and moving about, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, reaching, pushing, pulling, carrying 50- 75 pound objects such as tools, equipment and parts. This is a roadside andshop repair position. Must be able to dress properly for the weather.
