POSITION SUMMARY:  The Learning & Development Specialist provides for the development, design, and delivery of Credit Union learning and development programs, including digital and blended learning solutions.  Advocates the Credit Union vision, mission & values.   Supports and communicates strategic action items which ensures quality member service, credit union growth and stability; and helps the credit union meet its established goals.  The L&D Specialist works closely with the Learning & Development leaders to maintain a high level of service quality.   Communicates training effectively to any size audience.  Interfaces with all Associates in a high energy, enthusiastic, positive and professional manner while supporting professional growth and continuous learning of Associates.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops, designs and delivers training programs for Associates based on needs analysis.  Needs based delivery includes synchronous instructor-led workshops, self-directed asynchronous online training, presentations, and meetings.
  • Designs, develops, and delivers curriculums, courses, and workshops in support of the learning and development efforts, including but not limited to: 
    • Functional, soft skill, and leadership trainings
    • E-learning and other web-based trainings
    • Professional development programs
  • Designs, develops, and produces facilitator manuals, participant guides, quick-reference guides, activities and job aides to support all training delivery.
  • Continually evaluates and assesses needs of learning and development programs by gathering and analyzing feedback and metrics.  
  • Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts and trainers to develop, update, and maintain training content.
  • Measures the effectiveness of training and development initiatives, anticipate future training needs, and make suggestions to continually improve learning and development programs.
  • Facilitates learning programs as needed to support corporate learning and development initiatives by using a variety of modalities such as video, Power Point, flipcharts, white boards, technology, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience/ Training/ Education:

  • High School Education or Equivalent, plus two-year college degree in Education, Communication, or Business.  Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • One to three years of experience in Learning & Development, as a facilitator, preferably with a financial institution.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) required.
  • Experience with LMS Administration and eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, etc.)
  • Sales and Service and/or Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with eLearning authoring tools.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to speak in public to large groups as well as small groups. At ease moderating both large and small groups. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Strong writing skills. Ability to write clear e-mails, simple correspondence, training manuals, handouts, and step by step training procedures. Includes high attention to detail in all written material.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer including a full working knowledge and ability to utilize the following software programs:
    • Microsoft Office 365 (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) 
    • Learning management system and online compliance software
  • Understands Adult Learning theory and techniques.

            

 

The targeted hourly rate range is $30.30 to $37.00. Final offer will be determined based on experience, education, training/certifications and specialized skills.
