Job Title: Business Analyst (Logistics Systems and Software)
Position Summary:
The Logistics Business Analyst is responsible for overseeing and optimizing logistics and supply chain systems across global distribution sites in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, and Germany. This role involves ensuring the efficient operation of logistics software, analyzing data to improve system performance, and collaborating with various departments and shipping system providers to enhance overall logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of logistics software and systems to support global distribution sites. Maintain system documentation, including user manuals and training materials.
- Process Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize shipping processes, define standard work procedures, and process flows.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with production/distribution teams, shipping system providers, and carrier partners to enhance and improve the user experience for team members using the shipping system.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support for logistics systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution. Design and develop test plans, scenarios, and scripts for system implementation and upgrades. Test completed development scripts prior to release for final user acceptance.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze logistics data to identify and implement system performance improvements.
- Reporting: Prepare and present reports on logistics system performance.
- Training: Provide training and support to team members on logistics systems and best practices.
- Compliance: Ensure logistics systems comply with relevant regulations and standards, including data security and privacy requirements. Ensure systems provide accurate data to bill clients for logistics services.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Audits: Conduct weekly audits on shipping systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Other Duties: Complete all strategy projects, personal development goals and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems management or a related role.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with logistics software and data analysis tools.
- Proficiency in SQL and database management.
- Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- .Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or similar certification.
- Industry Experience: Experience with small package and LTL carriers to understand shipping practices, APIs, and connection requirements.
- Coding: SQL, Python.
Working Conditions:
- Location: This position is based on-site, Monday to Friday, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required to global distribution sites.
