Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates and ensuring effective project management from inception to completion.
This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in estimation software, and a solid understanding of electrical systems and construction practices.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bids.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to review project requirements and scope.
- Utilize estimation software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create precise pricing models.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve optimal cost control.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to identify potential overruns or savings opportunities.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes (including NEC), and best practices in construction estimating.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, preferably with a focus on electrical projects.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with estimation tools such as IntelliBid or other estimating softwares
- Solid understanding of cost control methods and techniques within the construction environment.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional analytical skills.
