ESTIMATOR
O'Connell Electric's Estimators are responsible for producing comprehensive estimates for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. Estimators collaborate closely with project managers and other electrical construction professionals to develop accurate and timely estimates and support the development of complete project proposals.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
This position includes performing various tasks including but not limited to the following:
- Attend pre bid meetings and review specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work.
- Perform takeoffs utilizing Trimble Accubid Anywhere and LiveCount software.
- Set up estimates to allow for advanced manipulation of data, enabling the generation of estimate breakdowns for bid analysis, scheduling input, and bid form requirements.
- Other duties may be assigned based on needs of various divisions across the company.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Microsoft 365, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working with Bluebeam, Tra-ser SX, Auto CAD and Revit a plus.
- Experience and comfort with Cloud based tools is helpful.
- Strong technical aptitude to learn and master company specific tools and programs is required.
Education and Experience
- Degree in Maintenance/Construction technology, electrical engineering, construction management or trade experience preferred but not required.
- At least two years of experience completing estimates and bids for industrial and/or commercial construction projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of civil, architectural, mechanical, and general construction techniques.
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and standards.
- Electrical industry experience preferred.
Compensation
The minimum and maximum annual salary (or hourly rates) that O'Connell Electric Company believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting is $60,500 – 80,000 per year.
