Position Overview:
As a Talent Recruiter at O'Connor Plumbing, you will be integral in sourcing, attracting, and hiring skilled professionals for key roles in our company, including Commercial Service Plumbers, Drain Technicians, Office Admin staff, and any other hiring needs that arise.
Responsibilities:
- Talent Sourcing: Proactively identify, source, and engage with top candidates for various roles, Commercial Service Plumbers, Drain Technicians, Office Admin staff, including and other positions as needed.
- Full-Cycle Recruiting: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from job postings, resume screening, and conducting initial interviews to negotiating offers and onboarding new hires.
- Candidate Screening: Utilize a variety of recruitment methods, including job boards, social media, referrals, and direct outreach, to build a strong pool of qualified candidates for open positions.
- Building Talent Pipeline: Continuously build and maintain a talent pipeline of qualified candidates to meet both immediate and future hiring needs.
- Candidate Experience: Ensure a positive and professional experience for all candidates throughout the recruitment process, from initial contact to final offer.
- Market Insights: Stay updated on industry trends, salary benchmarks, and competitor hiring practices to attract the best candidates and remain competitive in the marketplace.
- Employee Engagement & Retention: Support the development and implementation of employee engagement strategies aimed at increasing satisfaction, performance, and long-term retention. Collaborate on onboarding programs that promote a smooth transition for new hires and strengthen cultural integration.
Qualifications:
- Proven Recruiting Experience: 3 years of experience recruiting for skilled trades positions, including plumbers, drain technicians, and office/admin roles in the plumbing, HVAC, or construction industries.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the specific skill sets and requirements for roles like commercial service plumbers and drain technicians, as well as administrative positions.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with candidates and hiring managers.
- Candidate Sourcing Expertise: Proficiency in using recruiting tools, job boards, social media platforms, and applicant tracking systems (ATS) to source and track candidates.
- High-Level Interviewing Skills: Ability to assess both technical and cultural fit through structured interviews, technical assessments, and reference checks.
- Relationship-Building: Proven ability to build relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external recruiting agencies.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, recruit for several open roles simultaneously, and maintain high attention to detail.
- Passion for Recruiting: A genuine passion for recruiting and helping companies build strong teams.
- HR or Recruiting Certification: Preferred, but not required (e.g., SHRM-CP, AIRS Certification, or similar).
