Job purpose
Under general supervision of the Accounting Manager, this position will perform diversified clerical accounting duties.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide clerical support to AP/AR including data entry, filing, collection calls, supplier contacts, answering phones, processing vendor invoices, and other accounting related activities.
- Process weekly and monthly payrolls, obtain payroll reports, initiate payment of payroll deductions
- Collect and analyze data, enter into spreadsheet format, initiate correspondence, and other clerical duties to support the accounting team.
- Provide backup support when needed throughout accounting department.
- Ensure records are stored properly and according to record retention policy.
- Assist Accounting Manager with month end close, inventory management reports, and other miscellaneous tasks.
- Other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in office/accounting environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft office including excel, word, AX.
- Excellent communication skills including verbal and written.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Working conditions
Office environment within a manufacturing facility.
Physical requirements
- Must be able to move, lift, transport items at minimum of 20 lbs.
- Must be able to consistently operate a computer/office productivity machinery i.e., calculator, copy machine, printer for a minimum of 6 hours per day.
- Must be able to remain stationary for a minimum of 2 hours per day.
- Must be able to detect and correct errors on paper/screens.
- Must be able to communicate and exchange information with other members of the organization verbally, nonverbally, and in writing.
- Must be able to move throughout the facility and office area to access file cabinets, office equipment, plant machinery, and other office areas as needed.
