What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist-CMM Programmer position at O'Fallon Casting?
| Primary Function: |
| Create CNC programs and setup documentation for multi axis machine tools. Create CMM programs to verify machining operations, and support mold making machinist. |
| Tools and Equipment: |
| Software: Mastercam, PC-DMIS, Solidworks. Mazak 3,4,5 axis milling machines, grinders, drill press, various measuring instruments. |
| Material: |
| Aluminum castings, wax molds, etc. |

| Responsibilities Include: |
| With guidance and supervision from the Toolroom Engineering Manager: |
| THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT. |
| 1. Shall adhere to all safety requirements as posted on the job safety card. |
| 2. Shall consistently follow all applicable work instructions. |
| 3. Shall receive instruction and daily work assignments from the Tool Room Engineering Manager. |
| 4. Analyze drawings and solid models of precision parts to determine the most efficient sequence of operations required for machining. |
| 5. Design fixtures and tooling necessary for production and toolroom |
| 6. 3D solid modeling and surface modeling. |
| 7. Observes first article production and inspection to verify process is followed and results are conforming. |
| 8. Develop new and optimize existing CMM programs using PC-DMIS software. |
| 9. Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications as needed to ensure CMM programs measure and record all customer requirements. |
| 10. Shall maintain all required inspection records, files, and vouchers, where accuracy is paramount. |
| 11. Shall maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition, and keep noise level to a minimum. |
| 12. Shall perform other duties as assigned. |

| Special Skills and requirements: |
| Advanced Machining Technology coursework, with 5 years experience in similar field is preferred. |
| Stronge knowledge and experience of Solidworks and Mastercam software is required. |
| Extensive knowledge of fixture design and machining principles pertaining to CNC machines is essential for this position. |
| Detail oriented with excellent problem solving skills. |
| Knowledge of materials and their machining characteristics. |
| Good understanding of GD&T. |
| Strong communication skills. |

Salary : $33 - $37
