What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Operations Support Manager position at O&H Danish Bakery?
- Sales & Marketing
- Work with marketing team to establish an events calendar that ties promotions with subsequent marketing materials/processes to support the sales objectives. Tie calendar into overall company calendar of events.
- Work with our sales plans to provide input for forecasting operational efficiencies with staffing, supplies and materials maximizing service levels and balancing costs.
- Assist, develop and support suggestive selling techniques to grow average order dollar value.
- Create, support and assist with product margin analysis and provide input on product forecasts.
- Operations
- Work with our Store Managers under the direction of RGM to create an operations manual focused on key store processes and procedures looking to establish and standardize work routines accordingly. Audit those processes and procedures monthly looking for continuous improvements towards betterment. Help create a team approach from the sales floor up.
- Work in cross functional store projects focused on facility maintenance/improvements, supply chain, vendor relationships. Lead store projects as assigned by Director.
- Participate in financial analysis of KPI’s regarding sales per labor hour, waste, cash handling, forecasting/inventory aspects.
- From a quality perspective service level reporting/trending and analytics into customer surveys/responses with eyes towards continuous improvement.
- Streamline inventory management & month end inventory counts utilizing store management leadership to document processes and focus on accuracy.
- Create a scorecard that measures quality, order accuracy, completeness and timeliness of bakery products.
- Finance
- Work with RGM and Finance Team to assist with establishing operating budgets for each store. Support the RGM with variance explanations and research behind the numbers. Explore cost savings initiatives.
- Work with established KPI’s to bring metrics into a weekly dashboard for GM exploring cost savings opportunities in purchase prices/operational efficiencies.
- Technology
- Gain working knowledge of our DOG (order mgmt.) Revel (register) and UKG (payroll) Systems.
- Work with RGM and Technology group to explore technology aids focused on operational efficiency.
- Administrative/People
- Assist with meeting agendas and outline builds for our Store Manager Meetings.
- Build a daily/weekly dashboard for communications internally of KPI’s for our leaders to utilize as a steering and communications tool.
- Work with Store Managers and RGM to create and foster programs aimed at morale/team building focus.
- Assist in the promotion and compliance of company safety programs and initiatives. This includes ensuring incident reporting protocols for employee and customer accidents are followed. Ensures OSHA/SDS Management and Compliance.
- Will work in cross functional group with bakery center departments and call center leadership teams ensuring the highest levels of customer service are maintained.
- Oversee the facility audit program looking to grow and expand its reach. Identify trends and identify or make recommendations for improvement.

Working conditions:
Incumbent must be able to work in an office with minimal hazards. Exposure to allergens such as tree nuts, sesame seeds, and dairy (milk, eggs, wheat and soy). As O&H Danish Bakery provides a highly seasonal peak product offering, some weekends and extended work hours are necessary around major US holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter etc).
