Asphalt Paving Operator

NOTE* Applicant must be able to gain Joint Base Access (clean background, no felonies) and have a REAL ID/driver's license for Federal Identification (gold star on your DL or ID).

Role and Responsibilities

• Placement of hot mix asphalt through the use of a shovel, lute or other related tools.
• Shoveling asphaltic materials and assisting with maintenance of asphalt finishing machine to include adding or removing screed extensions.
• Following instruction of Asphalt Equipment Operator and Asphalt Foreman.
• May be exposed to vehicular traffic.
• Comply with all policies, procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform any other general duties as directed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Must be 18 years or older
• Experience in paving and using asphalt placement tools strongly preferred.
• Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment.
• Must meet employment standards with regards to background checks.
• Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Stand and walk with the coordination between their hands, eyes and feet to guide equipment in situations where precision is required.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Flexible availability to include overtime and weekends.
• Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain, dust, noise and extreme temperatures.
