Duties and Responsibilities
- Represent clients in criminal defense and family law cases, ensuring their rights are protected
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs
- Prepare and review discovery materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Maintain case files, keeping detailed records and documentation of case progress
- Provide outstanding customer service to existing and potential clients
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment
- Network with legal professionals, including court staff, to build strong relationships and facilitate smooth case progress
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and implement defense strategies
- Stay updated on legal developments in criminal and family law to provide the best representation
Skills and Qualifications
- JD degree
- Licensed to practice law in Ohio (bonus points for North Carolina)
- At least 1-5 years of working experience as an attorney
- Strong understanding of criminal law and family law principles
- Experience in trial preparation and courtroom procedures
- Comfortable with computers and technology and can troubleshoot routine issues
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Dropbox and Clio preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with court staff, clients, and other legal professionals
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant case law and recent legal precedents in criminal defense and family law
- Comfort with working remotely and independently as well as part of a collaborative team
Salary and Benefits
- $80,0000-$100,000 per year

- PTO: 40 hours 1-3 years, 80 hours 4-6 years, 120 hours 6 years. No rollover, use or lose
- Paid continuing legal education (CLE) events and seminars focused on criminal defense and business strategy, all travel included
