O’Neill Plastic Surgery is looking for a motivated, experienced, energetic, and hard-working RN to join our team. The RN is responsible for assisting the provider in patient care to ensure the highest quality care and experience within the clinical scope of an RN. Our practice is dedicated to the highest standards of patient care and customer service. The successful candidate needs to reflect the high quality of the practice. Candidate must have outstanding customer service abilities, and interest to educate and give guidance to patients about pre-operative and post-operative care, skincare, products, and services. This is a full-time position.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for quality nursing care under the direction of physicians. Works collaboratively with the physicians, staff, and other health care professionals to actively facilitate clear communication and quality care.
- Seeing patients preoperatively and postoperatively. Preparation of appropriate paperwork and prescriptions for those visits.
- Perioperative education of patients.
- Preparing patients for treatments for injectable treatments and assisting the physician with those treatments.
- Documenting patient visits in the EMR.
- Routine office and clinic tasks – cleaning rooms, stocking supplies, etc.
- Fielding clinical phone calls to discuss management with the physician
- Creating bills after appointments..
- Assisting the surgeon in the surgical process (as needed) – preparing the supplies and equipment. Setting up the operative field and scrubbing for surgery. Prior experience in this area is preferred but not required. However, a strong desire to learn these skills is necessary. You will be trained by the surgeon and other staff.
- Instrument processing, cleaning, and sterilization (as needed).
- Knowledge of the Operating Room, familiarity with OSHA guidelines and ability to assist Dr. O’Neill and Dr. Dixon Swartz and clinical staff during surgical days.
- Managing restocking of exam rooms daily to ensure that Dr. O’Neill and Dixon Swartz have all of the necessary supplies needed throughout the day.
- Reconstitute Botox and prepare as directed by Dr. O’Neill and Dr. Dixon Swartz
- Prepare fillers for patient treatments.
- Assist in the office with any medical procedures and patient visits.
- Accurately document in patient charts.
- Make follow-up calls to patients and answer any medical questions.
- Prepares the patient during the intake process by reviewing the check- in document, obtaining pain level, vital signs, height/weight, general history and chief complaint. Reviews allergies, immunization list, and social history section of the EMR
- Assists in compliance and clinical quality measures.
- Maintains a professional and cooperative relationship among all co-workers by communicating information and participating in team problem solving methods.
- Facilitates communication between provider and patients.
- Assist provider with in-office procedures, handling of specimen collection and proper documentation.
- Prior knowledge of sterile field set up / operating room experience strongly preferred.
- Provide suture removal and healing assessment to postoperative surgical patients.
- Provide skin care and cosmetic procedure education (training provided).
- Actively contributes to the professional development, morale and teamwork of staff while presenting a positive attitude and patient-minded vision, with patient satisfaction as the continuing goal.
- Managing drains, Removing drains.
- Assessing surgical incisions.
- Removing sutures.
- Draining Seromas.
- Changing wound packing/dressings.
- Helping patient with post-op garments.
- Filling breast tissue expanders.
- Emotional reassurance of patients.
- Ability to take pre and post op photos/3D imaging.
- Ability to use the hospital EMR to send orders, enter documentation, find results.
- Ability to round on inpatients, enter admission and discharge orders.
- Ability to communicate with other physicians offices to obtain and share care plans, results and patient updates.
- Ability to answer weekend and after hours patient calls.

· Experience:
· RN licensed
· 2 years working as an RN
· Experience in plastic surgery preferred
