General Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Business Intelligence Architect who is a data-driven individual with excellent data and analytical skills, demonstrated leadership in their role, and a passion for delivering data-driven insights. This role will partner closely with Business Stakeholders to produce analytics, insights, and reporting to support these needs. This role is expected to understand the business and draw from that knowledge to produce data-driven output to help La Jolla Group leverage data to drive Operational and Strategic decision making.
Essential Job Functions
- Acts as a Lead in support for Business Intelligence (data, reporting/analytics, processes, and integration issues. Drives root cause Identification and resolution.
- Ensure reporting/analytics solutions are scalable, flexible, supportable and meet expectations for a variety of Operational and Strategic related analytic solutions.
- Define, implement, and standardize metrics, reports and dashboards leveraging Qlikview, QlikSense and SQL based solutions.
- Contribute to strategic planning with recommendations on key initiatives and roadmaps.
- Provide feedback on 2-3-year data architecture strategy, including technology investments.
- Develop and maintain a business and technical capability model.
- Stay informed on industry trends and technologies.
- Create supporting architecture documentation consistently.
- Answer ad-hoc analytic questions, contribute to decision-making, and train users to self-serve standard reports and analytics applications.
- Enforce data quality standards, troubleshoot data validation, identify issues and see them to resolution.
- Support Data Integration solutions across the La Jolla Group technical stack.
- Acts as coordinator, as requested, for Enterprise Wide priorities; identifies and analyzes issues, devises solutions through cross-functional teamwork and determines corrective action, clearly communicating to stakeholders throughout.
- Provides support in Estimating cost and resources to support Business Intelligence projects and enhancements.
- Is a Trusted Advisor in key areas of expertise and support.
- Liaises with business stakeholders for continuous process improvement, enhancement, and future scalability.
- Assists IT Management in the formulation and execution of complex objectives to meet short and long-term company strategic goals.
- Work in an agile, SCRUM driven environment to deliver new, innovative analytical solutions.
- Team Player possessing strong analytical, problem solving, communication skills and be willing to share expertise with others
- Troubleshooting issues and migration/publication of Qlikview and Qlik Sense applications.
- End to end engineering – design, development, testing, deployment and support of Business Intelligence solutions.
- Analyze, break down pros/cons, and present findings for new business tools beyond Qlikview, Qlik Sense and SQL solutions
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 8 years developing and supporting QlikView, Qlik Sense, Qlik Admin and Qlik Console or similar BI toolsets.
- Advanced SQL skills, including SSRS, and experience developing data warehouse and data mart solutions is a must
- 2 years hands-on experience working in large-scale data warehouse/data lake/data lakehouse environments based on the Teradata, Microsoft, Oracle, or IBM platforms or 2 years working with structured and unstructured data within a cloud-based data environment (Redshift, Data Bricks, Hadoop, Snowflake, Spark, etc.).
- Qlik Cloud experience preferred
- Strong ability to tell stories with data, educate effectively, and instill confidence, motivating stakeholders to act on recommendations.
- Excellent problem-solving and logic skills and end-to-end quantitative thinking.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet objectives and key deadlines.
- Outstanding communications skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Demonstrated experience within the software development lifecycle process, including requirements gathering, design, functional configuration, testing and support on medium to large efforts/projects Proactive and inquisitive learner who seeks out and capitalizes on opportunities for change that enhance the business, rather than reacting to circumstances.
- Strong organization, time management and task prioritization skills.
- Ability to operate independently or as part of a team and complete agreed upon deliverables within established timeframes.
- Ability to adapt and flex given changing environments and priorities.
- Experience in a scripting language to automate and reuse code preferred.
- Experience in defining metrics and instrumenting data tracking preferred.
- Experience supporting middleware and data integration solutions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or a related Business field, or equivalent work experience.
- 8 years’ experience supporting, enhancing, building core Business Intelligence solutions including QlikView, Qlik Sense and SQL.
- Apparel or Footwear Industry experience preferred.
This is a Hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in our Irvine, CA office.
