What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cargo Representative position at O'Neill's Catering?
Job Purpose:
The Cargo Representative primary duty is, in partnership with the facility management, developing and maintaining professional relationships within the Cargo sector of business through professional customer interaction, stellar customer service and consistent, timely and accurate execution of transport and delivery of all airside catering orders. The Cargo supervisor will monitor and manage all aspects of the cargo program and meet all time, quality and staff expectations.
Responsibilities and Associated Duties:
In partnership with, and under the direction of the General Manager, the Cargo Representative will be responsible for managing the logistics and timeliness of the final product and/or services that are requested by the Cargo customers. - The Cargo Representative is responsible for arranging for and delivering catering orders and providing any and all additional services to Cargo customers and any other customers as directed by management in a safe and timely manner in compliance with O’Neill’s (O’NEILL’S) Standard Operating Procedures.
- Additionally, the Cargo Rep will participate in the process of directly serving the Cargo customers and obtaining feedback from them regarding our product and service, which they will rely on the leadership team, The Cargo Representative will, in partnership with the facility management, assist in the maintenance and upkeep of all records, journals, regulations associated with the Cargo business and Regulated Garbage, i.e. spill logs, training logs, et al.
- The cargo Rep will keep up with emails and client communication inside and outside of work in order to provide the best customer service.
- The Cargo Rep will update schedules on a daily basis to adhere to fluctuating revisions and client requests.
- The Cargo Rep will update daily and weekly manifests to ensure that all revisions and orders are up to date
- The Cargo Rep will, in partnership with the facility management, will assist in the maintenance and upkeep of all airport (s) required security and badging requirements for all employees associated with the Cargo sector.
- They will be an on-site problem solver in the event of situations arising that require immediate action, and the Cargo Rep will be provided the authority to make decisions to solve the problem following company procedures related to customer satisfaction, safety and cost.
- Understand and maintain quality control and food-safety procedures of food product during delivery.
- The Cargo Rep is responsible to drive safely under the laws and safety guidelines of the state (s) they drive in and to always be courteous and careful to avoid accidents and dangerous situations while on the road.
- Further responsibilities may include picking up supplies as needed in the course of business and routine vehicle cleaning and maintenance.
- The Cargo Rep is responsible, in conjunctions with other facility drivers, to maintain the vehicle fleet, clean the vehicle they use and remove all trash, clean the vehicle a minimum of one time per week and ensure that the telematics route signal tracking and FOB are in working order and will always fill the gas tank before returning to the kitchen on their final run.
- Under the direction of the leadership Staff the Cargo Rep, in conjunctions with the other facility drivers, will maintain operationally safe vehicles by conducting regularly scheduled and required inspections including oil changes, tire changes/rotations, and other servicing. Maintain impeccably clean (inside and out) vehicles by utilizing self-service car washes.
- Safely operate company vehicles and drive in compliance with all local and federal laws and regulations.
- Assist with the assembly of silverware units and stocking of items in the company vehicles.
- Dress professionally and within the guidelines of Company procedures including the company approved uniform.
- Crosstrain to be able to prepare or produce food in the kitchen as a secondary duty when business is slow, and staffing shortages occur.
- All other duties as assigned by the Culinary Director.
Measures of Success:
Annual Performance Review- success will be measured using results of the Annual Performance Review (which are established bi-annually), just prior to the new Fiscal Year starting & at the 6-month mark of the fiscal year, to include Specific Job Responsibilities and O’Neill’s Exceptional Service Goals:

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:
- High School diploma is required.
- Previous face-to-face customer service experience in the aviation, food services, or hospitality industry is essential.
- Individual must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Must possess a sense of urgency at all times and be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to details.
- Prior delivery driving experience preferred.
- The Cargo Representative must have an excellent driving record and be able to pass a FAA on-ramp security clearance and pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings.
