Job Description
The Retail Service Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Store Manager and Assistant Managers in key areas such as sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. In the absence of an Assistant or Store Manager, this position assumes shift management responsibilities.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead the store team in delivering exceptional customer service to both retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring team members execute customer service programs (Related Sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Ensure telephones are answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner, contacting customers upon shipment arrivals as needed.
- Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure, utilizing electronic outside purchase order ledgers.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges in an efficient and friendly manner, issuing refunds accurately using the correct payment methods, and processing or staging returned merchandise correctly.
- Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Ensure team members adhere to the posted work schedule, with changes/deviations approved by management, and clock in/out according to company policy.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day-end procedures, verifying/securing money/deposits according to company policy, preparing bank deposits as needed, ensuring night security lights are on, locking doors and securing the building, arming/disarming security alarms, and checking/securing/locking delivery vehicles parked in secure designated areas.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to obtain RSS Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Retail sales experience, preferably in auto parts.
- Automotive systems and repair knowledge.
- ASE Certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
