Now Hiring: Area Chief Engineer
Location: Springfield, MO
Essential Responsibilities:
- Function as the primary support to the facilities by request, ensuring that the facility is current with prescribed company engineering operating standards.
- Ensure that properties adhere to the company-prescribed maintenance standards, performing equipment audits within safety and asset protection systems.
- Review and identify capital items that are short-term capital expenditures and schedule one-to-five-year capital equipment requirements.
- Oversee energy conservation by educating properties on energy conservation strategies, developing property-specific plans, and effectively reducing energy consumption expenses.
- Train and develop new and current Chief Engineers on the essential skill sets required to manage property assets, including utilities, HVAC, electrical, and safety programs.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by guiding properties through state and federal requirements, such as OSHA, ADA, and environmental regulations.
- Serve on task force assignments as requested by the Corporate Director of Facilities or Regional Director of Operations.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Skills & Abilities:
- Exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management, and listening skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel).
- Present professionally and persuasively to individuals and team members.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of all aspects of property equipment and operations.
- Teach, mentor, and train new team members.
- Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm at all times.
- Use analytical skills to measure potential areas of value savings for all OHM-managed properties.
- Interact with all levels of management within OHM-managed properties.
- Organized and able to work under pressure.
- Ability to perform capital expenditures, retrofits, and replacements within the parameters of an operating hotel.
- Knowledge of building trades, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and general building construction, as well as facilities regulations and safety standards (OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, NFPA).
Education:
- 10-12 years of related experience.
- 4-year degree in Mechanical Sciences or comprehensive firsthand experience in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
- Minimum 5 years of property maintenance; hotel experience is preferred.
Language Development:
- Reading: Read, understand, and instruct.
- Writing: Write reports with proper format, punctuation, and grammar, using all parts of speech.
- Speaking: Speak with poise, voice control, and confidence, using correct English and a well-modulated voice.
Working Conditions:
- General interior and exterior environment.
