Now Hiring: Food & Beverage Manager
Location: Hilton Garden Inn - Independence, MO
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ensure high standards of food and beverage quality and guest service.
- Lead, train, and mentor food preparation staff, including recruitment, coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Collaborate on managing departmental budgets and expense plans to achieve budgeted revenues and maximize profitability.
- Develop short- and long-term financial and operational plans for the restaurant and food and beverage department.
- Maintain procedures for securing financial transactions and handling cash.
- Assess future business and workload requirements based on insights from the sales department.
- Assist in preparing local and national marketing programs for food and beverage.
- Supervise banquet and restaurant personnel, including training and scheduling.
- Monitor restaurant performance through customer satisfaction and financial reports, initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain product and service quality standards through ongoing evaluations and investigation of complaints.
- Establish and maintain preventative maintenance programs for physical assets.
- Enhance guest satisfaction by improving products through team member development and maintaining a quality image.
- Comply with company policies as well as local, state, and federal laws.
- Support team member recognition and engagement programs.
- Embrace the culture of O’Reach, Green Team, guest service, team member satisfaction, health & wellness, and safety.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Knowledgeable in food planning, preparation, purchasing, sanitation, and personnel management.
- Professional demeanor with a pleasant appearance.
- Ability to motivate team members and efficiently handle multiple activities.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Skilled in problem-solving and delivering results.
- Capable of working with diverse personality types while maintaining professionalism.
- Effective multitasking and prioritization abilities.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Hotel Management, or Business preferred.
- Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in food and beverage; one year of line-level experience or equivalent education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Minimum lifting capacity of 50 pounds; ability to lift items over 40 pounds overhead.
- Capable of transporting food and utensils weighing up to 10 pounds.
Physical Activity:
- Includes stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
Environmental Conditions:
- Primarily indoors, with protection from weather but potential exposure to temperature changes and extremes of heat.
Hours:
- Scheduling may vary, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
