SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER / LICENSED SITE PROFESSIONAL

O’Reilly, Talbot & Okun (OTO) is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Licensed Site Professional (LSP) for this hybrid position based out of our Springfield, MA office. Candidate will join our environmental team in OTO’s mission of providing responsive, economical, and quality-driven environmental, geotechnical, and industrial hygiene consulting services. Our Team

OTO is a firm small enough to offer personal service and large enough to tackle big jobs. Our firm employs approximately 20 technical staff, with 7 on the Environmental Team. As a team of engineering and scientific professionals we strive to maintain positive, collaborative work relationships by understanding project needs and adapting our practices accordingly. These solid, goal-oriented efforts allow us to continue doing what we do best : use our technical knowledge to reach successful outcomes.

Your Role

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with the expectation that you will be available to your team during business hours (M-F 8A-5P) and will communicate your schedule with your team. We expect a Senior Project Manager / LSP candidate to adopt our mission and reflect our values while :

  • Directing all aspects of project management including client interaction, technical execution, staff management, report completion, and financials
  • Mentoring and development of staff
  • Develop new business opportunities with support of our business development team
  • Support the office in technical excellence and collaborate with other managers to provide vision and direction for OTO’s future.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications / experience :

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science / Engineering or other relevant science field (Master of Science degree a plus)
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Hazardous Waste Site Cleanup Professionals (LSP)
  • 8-10 years applicable experience in hazardous waste site investigation, remediation, and regulatory submittals under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP). Additional experience with Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs) a plus
  • Phase I / II environmental assessments for real estate development
  • Business development and client management experience
  • Commitment to professional development and staying current with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Ability to speak and write professionally
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, budgeting, and cost control
  • Demonstrated experience supervising technical and administrative staff
  • Involvement in Professional organizations
  • Strong leadership, team building, and interpersonal skills; and
  • Existing client connections
  • Additional technical experience a plus :

  • Additional professional licensure (e.g., Connecticut Licensed Environmental Professional, Professional Engineer, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Professional Geologist)
  • Experience with characterization of soils and groundwater at RCRA, CERCLA, and Brownfield sites, as well as developing remediation strategies
  • Experience with Asbestos projects
  • Experience with soil management at large-scale construction projects
  • Experience developing, managing, and / or performing due diligence, regulatory compliance, and environmental management system audits
  • Environmental compliance experience (spill response plans, water / waste permitting, compliance audits)

  • Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. A well-qualified candidate may expect a salary between $85,000 and $110,000.
