Position Overview: The Warehouse Receiving Lead plays a crucial role in our warehouse operations by managing the entire receiving process for incoming inventory. This position ensures the accurate counting, documentation, and placement of all received freight. Leading a team, the Receiving Lead coordinates with delivery schedules to maintain smooth operations from truck unloading to proper allocation within the warehouse.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of 3-5 warehouse associates.
- Delegate tasks and prioritize activities for the receiving team.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating incoming freight deliveries.
- Lead the unloading of semi-trailers and container loads.
- Safely operate forklifts and order pickers to move tires and place freight into designated bin locations.
- Maintain organization of bin locations and warehouse racking for efficient inventory management.
- Ensure accuracy of packing lists and enter received inventory into Royal 4 inventory software.
- Identify and document any damaged products for immediate processing.
- Verify and label item numbers on tire stacks before storage.
- Communicate professionally with delivery drivers and oversee paperwork completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company safety policies and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Perform other general housekeeping tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in warehouse operations a plus.
- Prior experience in warehouse receiving and inventory management preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and order pickers; valid forklift certification required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
