This is a full-time position from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, must be able to work at least one weekend day (either Saturday or Sunday).
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging activities and programs for residents based on their interests, abilities, and individualized care plans.
- Assist residents with participating in activities, encouraging social interaction and fostering a sense of community.
- Coordinate and lead group activities, such as arts and crafts, games, music therapy sessions, and outings.
- Maintain documentation of residents' participation and progress in activities.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in activities or recreation therapy preferred.
- Previous experience working with seniors, preferably in a long-term care setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
- Creative and enthusiastic personality with a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of seniors.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a positive attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed.
