Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Driver to oversee and manage our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient route driving, while leading a team of drivers in delivering exceptional service. This role requires strong leadership skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle various types of vehicles including box trucks, limousines, and heavy haul vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily driving operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan and optimize routes for efficiency and timely deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Train and mentor new drivers on best practices for route driving and vehicle handling.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and driver performance.
- Address any issues or concerns that arise during transportation operations promptly.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving service quality and operational efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in driving roles such as moving, paratransit, or commercial vehicle operations.
- Familiarity with route driving techniques and logistics management.
- Experience operating box trucks, limousines, heavy haul vehicles, or as a van driver is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance tasks on vehicles when necessary.
- Previous experience as a yard jockey is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.

Pay: $20.82 - $21.38 per hour
