Kennel Attendant
We are looking for high-energy and personable people who are comfortable around animals of all shapes and sizes. Our facility has capacity for 70 dogs, 10 cats and other pets including small mammals, birds and reptiles. We have a private cattery and take pets of all types for short and long-term stays. We provide urgent drop-off and have a thriving day care business.
Located in a residential neighborhood, OBKC sits on two-acres of plush green grass with mature trees. We feature 40 indoor-outdoor runs and 30 indoor suites for dogs of all sizes. We have a lavish and secluded cattery, and space for even the smallest of pets. We don’t have a warehouse. Our guests play outside on real grass in the shade of real trees
Oak Brook Kennel has become a staple of the community and we are looking to add to our team to continue our 5 star service. All applications are reviewed within the next 5 business days. The next phase of the interview process will be in person at our facility.
About the role
- Duties will include cleaning, mopping and sterilizing cages, preparing meals and feeding, medicating, bathing,
- Monitoring our guest’s daily intake and output.
- Exterior duties include walking and playing with dogs of all sizes throughout our guests stay; this includes grooming and sanitizing dog runs.
- Facility Maintenance of both the kennel and yard areas
- No experience necessary. Previous experience as a Vet Assistant, professional pet-sitter, pet-walker or experience in a boarding or daycare facility is a plus.
- Other duties include front desk client intake and checkout, customer service via phone and in person
Job Requirements
- Work performed in a kennel setting with potential exposure to high noise levels, zoonotic disease, animal bites and scratch
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping are required to perform the essential functions of the job. Regular lifting of 40-50 pounds is require
- Must be willing to get dirty while cleaning kennels. We are located in a residential neighborhood with outdoor runs and play areas.

Full-time and part-time opportunities available
Base Pay:
$15.00 per hour.
Additional Compensation:
Tips. Attendants typically earn an additional $3-$6 an hour.
Total Compensation:
$18.00-$21.00 an hour.
