What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreational Gymnastics Coach position at Oak City Gymnastics?
We are an exciting and growing gymnastics facility dedicated to empowering young girls through the sport of gymnastics. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where athletes of all levels can grow, challenge themselves, and have fun. As we continue to build our gym community, we are looking for passionate, dedicated, and energetic Recreational Gymnastics Coaches to help foster a love for movement and gymnastics in children of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist recreational gymnastics classes for children ages 2 years and up
- Teach basic gymnastics skills and progressions in a fun, safe, and engaging way
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment that promotes confidence and enthusiasm
- Set up and sanitize equipment before and after classes
- Ensure a safe space by following all gym safety protocols and spotting athletes appropriately
- Communicate effectively with parents, athletes, and fellow coaches
- Collaborate with the coaching team to create consistent class plans and experiences
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in gymnastics, cheer, or dance working with children in a coaching/teaching role
- Ability to connect with young athletes and lead with enthusiasm and positivity
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Must be reliable, patient, and team-oriented
- Willingness to learn and grow as a coach
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- USA Gymnastics (USAG) membership (or willingness to obtain)
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience coaching preschool-aged children
- Background in recreational gymnastics or early childhood education
