Qualifications
Requirements of the Housekeeper position:
- High School Diploma
- Ability to read, write, and understand directions in the English language.
- Must be able to perform physical activities, i.e. climbing, sitting, stooping, lifting wet and dry, pushing, walking, standing, and reaching.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Cook
- Meal Preparation & Cooking: Prepare daily meals and snacks for residents, following established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Dietary Restrictions: Adhere to individualized meal plans for residents with specific dietary needs, such as low sodium, low sugar, gluten-free, or diabetic diets.
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, utensils, and storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring food stock, report shortages, and ensure all supplies are kept at proper levels.
- Collaboration: Work closely with dietary managers, dietitians, and other kitchen staff to ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality standards and meets residents’ needs.
- Menu Planning Support: Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients, resident preferences, and special dietary needs.
- Resident Interaction: Occasionally serve meals to residents and ensure their dining experience is pleasant.
- Cleaning: Ensure all kitchen and dining areas are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of each shift.
