Responsibilities:

• Sort, categorize, and process laundry items according to color, fabric type, and care instructions.
• Operate and monitor laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironing machines, to ensure optimal performance and maintain high-quality standards.
• Handle and treat stained or damaged garments appropriately, following established procedures and guidelines.
• Fold, press, and package laundered items efficiently and neatly for storage or delivery.

Quality Control and Inventory Management:

• Conduct thorough inspections of laundered items to ensure they meet cleanliness, presentation, and safety standards before distribution.
• Promptly report any maintenance or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and communicate with management regarding reordering needs.

Sanitation and Safety:

• Adhere strictly to established sanitation and safety protocols while handling laundry chemicals and operating laundry equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area, including the laundry room and storage areas.
• Follow proper waste disposal procedures in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary, demonstrating sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to tactfully interact with team members, residents, family members, visitors, and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of laundry practices, procedures, and relevant regulations in a long-term care facility setting (prior experience in such an environment is preferred but not mandatory).
• Responsible and conscientious approach to the care and proper utilization of supplies and equipment.
