Instructional Assistant, Sp. Ed. - (Two Positions)

Oak Ridge Elementary - 6.33 Hours Davis Intermediate - 5 Hours To assist a certificated teacher in the instruction and supervision of individual or groups of special education students by performing a variety of instructional support and child care activities. This job class provides a variety of responsible instructional support and follow through activities for the educational/training objectives of certificated personnel in a wide variety of special services areas. Oak Grove School District has a total student enrollment of approximately 8,800 students from grades TK-8. We have 18 school campuses along with a TK-8 Virtual Learning Academy (VLA). Six out of eighteen schools receive Title I funds. The size of the schools range from approximately 730 students to 270 students. The percentage of English Learners is 29% representing 56 languages spoken in the District. Oak Grove School District’s focus is driven by the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) and school site-specific SPSA (Single Plan for Student Achievement) which identifies short, intermediate, and long-term goals. First and foremost in all activities is the safety of students as well as student success in the areas of math and reading/language arts interwoven with science, social studies and visual and performing arts.
