Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of School to serve as our Chief Executive Officer, reporting directly to the Board of Trustees. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who can articulate and fulfill both the Board's objectives and our school's mission while fostering a positive, Christ-centered learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration
- Serve as the Chief Executive Officer, providing strategic leadership and oversight of all school operations
- Partner with the Board of Trustees, serving on standing committees as assigned
- Represent the school to faculty, staff, students, parents, and the broader community
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with churches, alumni, and other organizations
- Provide strategic leadership in diversity initiatives aligned with the school's mission
Academic Excellence & Student Development
- Foster a positive learning environment through understanding of educational best practices
- Oversee curriculum development, evaluation, and adoption
- Supervise standardized testing administration and analysis
- Ensure alignment of all programs with the school's mission
- Coordinate parent/teacher conferences and special events
- Maintain student discipline in harmony with school policies
Faculty & Staff Management
- Recruit, hire, and supervise all personnel and volunteers
- Conduct regular faculty meetings and professional development workshops
- Perform classroom evaluations and provide mentorship to teachers
- Oversee employee contracts, benefits, and professional development
- Maintain confidential employment records and handle personnel matters
Admissions & Community Relations
- Manage the complete admissions process
- Develop marketing materials and communications
- Conduct tours and family interviews
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders
- Create and distribute regular communications to school community
Operations & Facilities
- Oversee all non-accounting business operations
- Ensure proper maintenance and security of school facilities
- Manage technology infrastructure in collaboration with IT consultants
- Coordinate after-school programs
- Maintain master calendar and class schedules
Qualifications
- Strong Christian faith and commitment to Christian education
- Master's degree in Education, Administration or related field
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting
- Excellence in interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Strong organizational and administrative capabilities
- Extensive experience with curriculum development and educational best practices
- Membership in good standing in a Christian Church
