Job Summary (Essential Functions): The Donald Ross Pub (DRP) Assistant Restaurant Manager assists in overseeing the a la carte food and beverage service in the Donald Ross Pub, primarily focusing on breakfast and lunch service. The individual ensures service standards are achieved and that quality is to Oak Hill's Platinum-level standard. They demonstrate appropriate analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills. The individual has a genuine care for people and fosters a team culture.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leads through their commitment, honesty, attitude, communication, creatively, and willingness to listen and show appreciation.
- Creates a team culture through employee engagement, recognition programs, meetings, training sessions, and team retreats.
- Assists with supervision and progressive discipline of the Donald Ross Pub personnel. Coaches their staff and leads by example.
- Conducts daily facility inspections of the Donald Ross Pub and service areas to ensure areas maintain a standard of cleanliness and organization.
- The DRP Restaurant Supervisor is the opening manager for the restaurant. They are primarily on the floor in the Donald Ross Pub during breakfast and lunch, and whenever else business dictates. They conduct pre-shift lineups to ensure service staff are complying with the Oak Hill Country Club appearance standards. They are visible and available to the membership and employees.
- Ensures that service in the Donald Ross Pub is up to Oak Hill's standard. Verifies that service staff's daily side work is completed. Opens the POS system at the beginning of the meal period to ensure accurate billing.
- Assists the DRP Restaurant Manager and DRP Assistant Restaurant Manager in conducting a quarterly inventory of all restaurant equipment including, but not limited to, china, glassware, flatware, etc.
- Ensures that all laws applicable to the Food and Beverage operations are consistently followed.
- Ensures POS systems are programed correctly and operate effectively.
- Performs administrative duties including daily logs, inventory spreadsheets, supply requisitions, payroll, and associate reviews.
- Attends various department meetings including BEO, Managers Meeting, Event Recap & Upcoming Events.
- Maintains professional relationships with the employees and membership of Oak Hill to achieve personalized service.
- Accepts member/guest complaints and works with DRP Restaurant Manager and DRP Assistant Restaurant Manager to provide solutions to achieve member satisfaction in a professional and timely manner.
- Keeps current with changing member preferences and industry trends.
- Carries out bylaws and policies set by the Board of Directors.
- Any, and all other duties, as assigned by the DRP Restaurant Manager, DRP Assistant Restaurant Manager, and/or Director of Food & Beverage.
Experience
- Two or more years of experience in food and beverage. Private Club experience preferred.
Education
- Degree from a hotel, hospitality or restaurant school/college preferred.
Licenses and Special Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Food safety certification.
- Alcoholic beverage certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Able to meet and perform the physical requirements of the job and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work.
General Information
Scheduled Shifts: Full-time, year-round position. Days and hours are based on club operations and weather conditions. Regularly works 45 hours per week.
Wage: Competitive wage, based on experience
