Job Description:
- Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school including effectively communicating with students, staff, and parents.
- Establishes and maintains favorable relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for overall school objectives and programs; to interpret Board policies and administrative directives; and to discuss and resolve individual student problems.
- Programming classes within established guidelines to meet students' needs.
- Supervises the guidance program to enhance individual student education and development.
- Establishes guidelines for proper student conduct and maintains student discipline.
- Supervises and provides strong instructional leadership to the teaching staff.
- Oversees planning, organization, and implementation of all school activities.
- Initiates, designs, and implements programs to meet specific needs of the school.
- Evaluates and counsels all staff members regarding their individual and group performance.
- Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, and attend school sponsored activities, functions, and athletic events.
- Performs such other tasks as may be assigned by the Superintendent or Board.
Personal and Professional Responsibilities:
- Must hold a valid Indiana Administrators license.
- Administrative experience preferred but not required.
- Establishes and maintains favorable relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for overall school objectives and programs; to interpret Board policies and administrative directives; and to discuss and resolve individual student problems.
- Support School Corporation decisions and direction relative to matters of policy and administrative directives.
- Work as a team player.
- Demonstrate the ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner.
- Address concerns and other suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.
